| Snowmelt was delayed by 10 June, but then developed quickly. Summer was warm, but precipitation occurred on nearly half of the days.

Breeding conditions:
|
| Lemming number was low (not higher than 0.3 sp/100 trap-days), Arctic Foxes scarce, but some bred. Long-tailed and Pomorine Skuas, and Snowy Owls common in early June, became rare by July, no breeding was recorded. Arctic Skuas nested, but were rare. Buzzard nests contained 3 eggs at largest. The most abundant wader nesting species was Red Phalarope, common were Grey Plover, Pacific Golden Plover, Ringed Plover, Little Stint and Pectoral Sandpiper. Nest success in waders was average.
